Hey all,
Currently in an X5 M50i that is fully loaded with the dynamic handling package. Really love the car but due to lack of mass transit options in NYC by me, I will soon be driving into work at least 3x a week. Haven't already been going 1x a week with the x5, I've got to say the large size isn't the best when it comes to the parking garages and visibility with tunnel traffic. Also the start/stopping of the tunnel traffic (and not wanting to let other cars endlessly creep into my lane) has been somewhat of a chore with the heaviness of the vehicle. Currently have a Tesla Model Y performance on order given the smaller size, gas savings, sentry mode etc. That said my order just got delayed until end of March. Meanwhile looks like I can order an X3/4M and have it ready in the same time. Clearly the proposition is different than the Tesla but it will have been handling and a more luxurious experience (although from what i've seen in the showrooms, perhaps a step down from my x5 as there is no merino leather option I think). I have not test driven the X3M but recall reading many reviews that complained about the harsh suspension of the original version (which is why I went x5 m50i). That said, the Tesla MYP has a really unrefined and harsh suspension as well. Prices are clearly very different but I wouldn't mind throwing the X3m back into the short list. My question to you guys, has there been any change in the LCI suspension or have the changes all been cosmetic? For example, I've heard MB really softened the suspension of the E63 (if one could even get one) when they did the facelift. In addition, any thoughts on heavy stop/start traffic experience? Not fun? Am I kidding myself and really for a daily driver, should I just get an expendable x3 m40i? Thanks in advance. |

I went from a 2020 (with M Adaptive Suspension) on 21" to a 2022 with 20". I noticed the softer ride as soon as I exit the dealership garage.

Finally pulled the trigger last weekend. Just slight under MSRP with just over 1,500 miles on it. Happy with the configuration. Basically every option included. Very happy with my purchase!!

Hi folks, new to the forums, picked up a ‘22 alpine white X3MC on the 26th of Feb. Just happened to find one sitting in a showroom and picked it up. Super super happy with it. Amusing to come in an read this thread. Definitely a lot of emotions tied up in the LCI. Personally I love it. Of course, I got it on a Saturday and had surgery on Tuesday, so I’ve driven it exactly twice so far. Fun times.

I'm really happy with how the X4M looks, I'm one of those folks that loves the sedan style SUV. I initially went in looking to order an M340ix in Atlantis Blue, and put my order in with the local dealership. After being told they make the M340ix in Mexico, and they only paint Atlantis Blue in Germany they would effectively have to ship parts from Mexico to Germany, build and paint, then ship back to the US. My allocation was denied, so after doing more research, I discovered I could get a pure M model X4MC for $10k more than what the fully loaded M340ix would have cost. So, I just splurged and went the X4M route.

not better
think the dash buttons are much better in the 2020 model. the hazard switch and the safety switch are squeezed together, no more individual temp control for each side, and the aluminium buttons with red background are very hard to see properly, don't like it. and the dials on the 2020 also much better and closer to analog, but I never look at them with hud display. hud display is a must especially when driving fast in our m cars.

I wish it had more horn buttons. I can never find the horn when I need it. And beaded seat covers should be a factory option.
