Dude this is not fancy exotic car, just drive and enjoy! I do love road trips, we work from home but any chance we get for long trips I take my X7 and yes it’s double the price of our X3, who cares we live once, we buy cars to enjoy them not to worry too much.

Indeed!

This may sound odd to most ppl but I was more impressed with the Canyonlands, in Utah, despite being smaller and less popular than the Grand Canyon.

Take your own car...just don't leave anything of interest in the car when parked at the destination

Costs of rental car will be about $550 without gas and with unlimited miles. My car is a paid off 2023 X4 M40i with 12,000 miles on it. Road trip will be approx. 3,000 miles.

Never take on a road trip that's this long and just not sure if our M40i is built for this.

What do you mean you are not sure if your car is built for this? You dont think a M40i can handle a 3k mile road trip?

What wear & tear? Mid 80mph about 2,200 or so RPM depending on gear set. Engine is loafing along & nothing is being stressed except maybe the driver.

These cars are built to drive, so drive it. About the "I don't drive the Autobahn comment."

Cars built to run unlimited speeds or sustained high speeds are way overbuilt when run on our road system.

I have taken my ‘23 X4 M40i on several raid trips of length since receiving it in April! 3 trips from Orange County to Santa Ynez wine country, 1 to Paso wine country, 1 to Napa, and another 1000 miler for a backpacking trip to Wyoming.

I did pick up the custom spare tire enroute to Wyoming just in case runflats blew out in middle of nowhere.

I bought the car to enjoy on road trips, and I surely do!

If there’s something I should maybe be more reserved about is the number of wine trips I take! lol!
