How to fix Your iDrive Credentials Are Invalid without having to type in PW
I have a pic of this but the desktop site doesn’t let me upload pics from my phone. I have a 2-3 week old 2024 X3 and for whatever reason I now get a pop up in my iDrive saying
“Your ConnectedDrive login credentials (BMW ID or password) are invalid. Please log in again.” It then prompts me to enter my BMW ID and password directly in the iDrive. First off, I haven’t changed my BMW ID or PW so idk why it’s saying it’s invalid. Secondly, is there a way I can just reconnect all this from the MyBMW app? I never had to manually enter my ID or PW when this car was first set up, and I have a long and complex PW which is not fun to enter using iDrive, is there a way to resolve this from the MyBMW app or anything else which doesn’t require me typing in my stuff on the iDrive controller? PS this doesn’t really seem to impact any functionality, I just have to look at this pop up every time I start the car |

This just started happening to me last week in my 2021 X3. I finally got tired enough of it and had to delete my profile and recreate it in idrive.

Same message has been popping up for me every time I start the car (‘23 M5) since March. However, bumping the I drive knob to the left always seems to allow me full access to the controls so I have no idea what this message is keeping me from accessing. Annoying but living with it. I’ll try the ignore approach for a while and see if it goes away as described by others.

Same problem in my ‘21 X3 M40. I’ve entered correct password in I drive. No luck. I think deleting profile and re creating one might work. No change in my BMW profile or password. Just a weird and annoying glitch. Just started a week ago.

Im not totally sure but possibly somewhat mostly sure that I have a fix for you.
You need to login to the BMW app and change your PW. They have recently changed the requirements for the PW length etc. I had the same issue. I could login online and I was unable to in Idrive with the same credentials. So I just went to reset the PW and to make it simple is change out the # per typical lazy password update. And BMW yelled at me saying that my PW did not meet the requirements. So I had to get a completely different one that it accepted and I logged into the iDrive right away.

Can this be avoided by setting a PIN for the profile? Thats 4 chracters and a lot easier to enter in idrive.

Not sure, but the bmw genius I spoke to years ago when this first happened to me suggest that.
