Scratch interior pillar. Advice?

I couldn't wait 4 months for a new build so I bought a demo at full MSRP with the dealer . I received the car with 3000km on it the condition on the car is like new but I noticed that the seat belt pillars are heavily scratched. Any advice if I can order and replace the panel or how to fix this.

Thanks in advance

You'd have to be handy with tools ...

I would bring it back to the dealer for replacement under warranty. Didn't it come with a new car warranty?

+1 - actually a really good point - do what Cabman said first before venturing into that black hole :-)

Do you think some Xpel film put over the area would prevent this?

It's fabric finish similar to the roof lining so very unlikely Xpel would help. Just set the set belt buckle position holder lower so the buckle sits over the hard plastic trim and film/adhesive felt may help in this area.

I assume the damage was caused by nails/jewelry when reaching for the buckle.

Those 'scratches' appear to have been caused by the seat belt buckle when it has returned to its parking place.

A good stiff bristle brush should remove those marks.

I doubt it's a warranty claim, but you could attempt to ask the dealer to replace in good faith. I have the same wear on ours. Good old diamond ring marks.

Scratches/damage isn't covered under new vehicle warranty

Someone had recommended some sort of plastic putty for fixing deep scratches in plastic in one of my posts
