Do you know what’s interesting, my son has a 2017 230 and the front factory lip/valence or whatever it’s called is very blue. It’s jet black, but turned a very distinct blue, I wonder if it’s some thing with BMW paint

Whoever supplies this to BMW needs a slap in the back. The bumper trim on my 7 has the same bluish tint now.

I had my side vents replaced when the car was two years old, no quibbles from the dealer. It’s now 3.5 years old and the replacement vents are starting to turn blue again, and I noticed today that one end of the boot spoiler is going blue. I have a full BMW extended warranty but not sure if something like this is covered - has anyone any experience of getting this fixed on a 3+ year old vehicle?

I'm exactly the same, just coming up on 4yrs old. Had vents replaced at 2yrs and they are fading again. I also have extended warranty but small print says trim is not covered.

To me this is a manufacturing/design fault due to poor UV resistance. Easily provable because one side is fading badly (the one which gets the sun all day) and the other is still black so clearly nothing to do with how the car is washed as some have suggested previously.

Not sure how to go about arguing this point with BMW though?

FWIW my black IND vents are doing the same thing. My roof spoiler did the same, was replaced under warranty once, and is now blue again.

It seems wrapping these pieces is the only long term solution. Has anyone actually done it? I'd like to see what it looks like

I didn’t bother tryna get the roof spoiler replaced when it was fading (mostly cause I kept seeing people post that it’ll fade again. I just had mine wrapped in gloss black

I installed these over a year ago. Work great. Look oem original.

has anyone tried polishing compound on the plastic to see if it is a uv damaged top layer that can be exfoliated off?

Mine also started to fade pretty badly on both side, still debating if it worth a dealer visit, or I should just DIY to get it replaced.

A cheap heat gun can fix the problem. Keep it in your trunk. But why do we need to do it???

Is there a difference between the wings of G01s and F97 M Cars? Alternative to swap out with the vents between the two, appreciate the expected imitation comments with the decal etc. but think the vents look better personally.

Thanks
