Does X3 M40i obd2 have a cover for the port?

Hi All,

Was working on car and looking for obd2 and found it had no cover and the port was fully visible. Is that normal?

Yes, no cover on the OBDII port! (23 M40i)

Normal. I have never seen a cover on any OBD2 port on any (many) vehicles I have owned.

Ditto…no cover on the OBD II diagnostic port:

But you can buy them if you want/need one. They're all over Amazon, eBay, etc.
I used to have them on my cars that were tuned and they said Do Not Flash on them.

Thank you all I thought the dealership worked on it and lost the cover. Other BMW in the past had a cover. If no cover then great news nothing to worry about. Thank you fellow G01 owners for your prompt response.
