New iDrive knob on F25 LCI
Hi, I found a used g style iDrive knob for a good price.
From the pic the connector looks the same but I have no idea if it's going to work/fit. Did someone try this before? Part num is 9459631 EDIT Found out it needs coding. Also found this 6992827 Need to know if needs coding or not Last edited by Andrea91; 04-04-2023 at 02:40 PM.. |

Aren’t the button nomenclature/hierarchy for the G chassis BMWs incorrect for your f25 x3? Why do you want an iDrive controller knob that isn’t compatible with your idrive version or NBT head unit when there are plenty of controllers that have the correct button layout?
Did you know if you copy & paste the full 11 digit or last 7 digits of the part number into the part number search on the online part database sites like realoem.com or bimmercat.com …those sites will list all the BMW models that use that part. As well as list other compatible part nbrs. When I use that feature on the www.realoem.com site…neither of the part nbrs you listed are for the f25 X3. Click the links below to see which BMWs use the part nbrs you listed:
You can also use that site and enter you VIN info…the pull up the diagram for the idrive controller to see what the current part number is that works with your X3. If you click on that 11 digit BMW part number, the site will list any other part nbrs that are compatible that are retroactively exchangeable or have been superseded etc.
