2021 X4 - CEL Light.... :(

Hi all, my wife's 2021 X4 xdrive30i with 10k km's on it had the CEL come on today. Stays on solid. Tried opening and closing gas cap. Gas tank is half full and was last filled about a week ago, always with 91 octane fuel.

Any ideas? I know, dealership, but just thought I'd ask.

Thx!

Yellow light I assume. Have you dug into iDrive to see if anything is reported there?

read the code and see what it is, any car part store can do this for you if you don't have an obd reader

Yup and yup, no warnings, nothing.

Also updated my post, not an X5, an X4..

I have to run an errand tonight, I'm going to go fill the gas tank, give the cap a wipe, see if either helps..

I'm on the east coast of Canada, not sure what store I'd have around me that would offer that. Canadian Tire? They'd make me book an appointment for anything like that!

We both have BMW's, her the X4, me a '22 X5. Maybe I'll watch some youtube vids and try to learn how to use a code reader and order one off amazon for the future.

Orielly’s, auto zone, Napa auto parts. Not sure what you have in Canada but any car part store will have it.

bimmerlink, protool or ista are programs that will give you far better diagnosis codes vs generics
