Reasonable price for full car PPF (Bay Area)

Never done PPF before, what's a reasonable price in the Bay Area, CA? Got a few quotes for my 23' X4 and all ranging from $8k to $12k.

That's way more expensive than I thought and I just feel I can have a better use of this amount of money. Is this pretty normal? If not, do you have any recommended shop in this area? Thanks in advance!

Think $5000 is about right. But, why cover an entire car?

$6k-$10k around here this past month. The 2 shops that were highly recommended were both under $7k.

I got my front (including full hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors) done for a different vehicle for around 2K couple of months ago. Personally I think this is the sweet spot for protection, unless you are going for a matte wrap or something. So possibly full car would be 6K-8K, but I definitely would not pay more than that. Check out Alphawerks for quote - they did a good job on mine but also check out other places. Market is down at the moment, it should really be lower than 3 months ago. I even got plumbers and electricians emailing me with discounts when earlier they were pretty busy - unheard of in this area.

I live east of Sacramento and had my 2021 X3 treated in Sacramento with PPF over all the high-impact areas and ceramic over the whole car. High impact areas (from memory) was the complete front, hood, front of roof, front fenders, lower sides (rockers), and lower rear. The total freight was $3500. The product used was Stek DYNOshield for PPF (about half the total $) and CQuartz Finest Reserve for the ceramic. It was very expensive I thought, but now 20 months later I am happy with the results. I am a lazy car maintenance person, and even with this treatment you can't be totally lazy, but it has survived a couple of bad rock encounters. Dinged the PPF, but not the car. Would I do it again? Probably, but it all depends on one's budget. It really helps to get a good installer; the process is probably more important than the product.

Having done it, I’m now a big fan of doing PCD pickup and then PPF (or other services) at Extreme Colors Auto Spa immediately afterward.
