I had a 2.0 and it was straight-up garbage. Hope the 3.0 is better, but I would go with blackvue. I literally ripped it off after it did not record a hit-n-run I was involved in.

Any advantages versus other brands? Does it integrate with the iDrive or any of the BMW apps?

Installs just like any other dash cam.. comes with a 3-wire hardwire kit (power, accessory, and ground wire) and a long cable to route to the rear camera. The official installation instructions require you to splice into a wire on one of the BDC plugs due to the front fusebox not having an accessory power fuse (the rear fusebox does though). Spoke too soon, BMW blocked our order even though local warehouses have them. Will keep trying.

I have a Blackvue DR750X-Plus with the Blackvue battery (hidden in the back by the fuse block) and it serves me perfectly. I was not expecting much from the battery but it performs much better than I thought it would. It charges super fast (hardwired) and lasts quite a long time. Paired with the blendmount, it's a super clean install that was DIY friendly.

I had one of these BMW cameras installed on my M3CS. After installation the dealer agreed with me that it did not work as designed and therefor they gave me all my money back.
Shortly after that I hooked up with Dashcamstore.com and now Ive got BlackVue 900s in everything I drive! IMO its a must have!! |

It would turn on & off with the car like it was suppose to but none of the safety features or normal driving conditions would record.
It was the first one the dealership had installed and they blamed it on the equipment. Please note this was 3 years ago and probably version 1.0...hopefully version 3.0 is better.

We did just get the install guide from them and it does seem there is a part in the manual that is needed but not included which is a 2 pin connector. Simple enough.

Its really easy, front or back of the fuse panel. I'm using a relay and direct connecting to the battery |
