Bavsound Ghost Underseat Subs V2
OK - so I bought this pair of subs second hand / I believe I'm the second owner. I installed them into my 2016 F25.... tried them out for a couple of weeks.... and believe I'm better off selling them and putting this money into an amp or self powered sub, perhaps. Just didn't do that much for me. Selling for $400 delivered in CONUS. Here's a link to them new from Bavsound if you're not familiar with them: https://www.bavsound.com/products/bs...RoC2eUQAvD_BwE 8-Ohm Models / designed for use with your H/K system as an upgrade. (currently on backorder from Bavsound) Last edited by dtox9; 10-15-2021 at 08:28 AM.. Reason: updated info |

When I removed the stock subs, they were completely different than any of the youtube videos I watched about how they were installed. Videos show speakers can come out without removing the plastic frame - not in mine / mine has to pull the entire enclosure out to get the speakers removed. Videos show the plastic subwoofer frame comes out with two bolts - not in mine / mine has four bolts - one in each corner. Videos show speaker enclosure enclosed with a flat bottom that rests against the floor - not in mine / mine has an open bottom with an open "port" that escapes over into the rocker area. I swapped them out anyway - hoping for a noticeable improvement. I didn't really notice much of any difference at all. So I swapped them back. Knowing in full detail, now, how the enclosures are designed and fitted into the vehicle, I used some silicone to "bed" the woofers into the enclosure frame, and used some closed cell foam gasket applied to the bottom of the enclosure frame to try to "seal" the enclosure to the floor of the vehicle under the seat. Those two modifications actually gave me more of a performance improvement using the stock components. That was my experience for my taste... Your mileage may vary. |

These are 8ohms. The factory subs for the hifi (standard), which is the base system in the US, is 2ohms. The H/K had 8ohm subs from the factory.
If you run an 8ohm speaker on a setup designed for 2ohms, the speaker is going to seem like it's getting a quarter of the wattage of the original speaker. (it's more complicated than that, but realistically it's going to seem very quiet). I'm guessing that's why you didn't notice an improvement from them. If someone has the H/K system, I think they'll be very happy with these. Good luck on the sale!

Are you interested in speakers or amp?
I have the full setup... 5 speakers 5 tweeters, subs and amp from Bavsound, I am about to trade in my vehicle in early September. All the speakers are compatible with the new vehicle I am getting except for the amp. |
