Stage 1 tune spark plugs
Hey everyone, I recently got my X3 tuned, just wanted some input on which spark plugs are recommended for my stage 1 tune. I have over 20K miles already on the car.
I was suggested these spark plugs… https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...51#description Any opinions?? Thanks

I believe stock gap is .030" and I went with NGK Laser Iridium. Part# SILZKGR8E8S - Stock# 96206. This is the correct and most up to date plug for our cars with the B58TU engine, despite what you may have seen in some YouTube videos. I got mine from Napa Auto Parts online and had them shipped. Good luck with your new tune and plugs. |

Surely your tuner would be able to advise the correct spark plugs for the tune? Normally a stage 1 tune, OEM should suffice?

No need for different plugs on a stage 1 tune; my M3 has a stage 2 tune and I'm running stock plugs with no issues. There was no indication from my tuner (AMS) regarding changing plugs.

OP what is your tuning company? They will be the ones to answer what you really need or suggest things accurately.

Seems like more people saying OEM spark plugs. I haven't had any issues yet. I do however have around 23.7K miles on it, someone suggested to me 30K to change them

My Stage 1 uses std plugs with std gaps ... and no issues at all. No need if map well done and not too much boost.
The map has been on the car a year without issue. Last edited by SO8; 12-27-2022 at 12:45 PM.. |
