Anyone with quality/ceramic window tint notice a reduction in wind noise? I took a 200i trip over the weekend which is the longest drive since I got it and it was pretty windy out so I noticed the wind noise a lot more and once you notice it, it can’t be ignored.

Coincidentally, I had an appointment late yesterday to get my front windows tinted and though it was a relatively short trip back in somewhat heavy traffic, I feel like the wind noise was lessened. I won’t have a chance to really take it out on an relatively open highway and do a better evaluation.

Hasn't been my experience. The tint didn't change the amount of wind noise I hear.

I have ceramic on my front two windows, makes 0 difference as far as wind noise goes.

OK thanks guys…would have been nice. I feel like I only really hear “excessive” wind noise when there is more of a crosswind. If I wasn’t leasing and keeping the car long term, I would seriously consider having the acoustic windows installed. I had them on my Mercedes and it was so quiet inside.

Same here. I don't think the wind noise is excessive. I only notice it when there are high winds, pretty much the same as you'd hear in any other car I'd imagine.

I made a similar thread in the X3M forum. Bestle was kind enough to post a pic of his Acoustic Glass.

For reference, below is a comparison to my non-Acoustic Glass.

Note, the both appear to have ~4mm thickness.

For those, who feel like they windows is a bit cracked open, you can try this. No guarantees.

Operating procedure for initialisation (manual): Deleting the initialisation:

Move side window into lower end position.

Press and hold switch in "Open one touch function position (second switch position) for between 15 and 25 seconds:

Note Deletion of initialisation was successful if toll function and anti-trap mechanism have been

rendered inoperative

Performing initialisation:

Move side window to upper end position

Pull and hold switch in "Close one-touch function (2nd switch position) during the

entire process

Note: Re-initialisation was successful if toll function and anti-trap mechanism function flawlessly.

This wind noise was unexpected

Just picked up our b/n X3 yesterday and very disappointed with the wind noise at the front end passenger side. Taking it back to dealership for a refund
