Talking New 20s + thicc tires on the M40- in love 🥰

Let me preface by saying that I spent too much time the second I picked this thing up thinking about how I wanted to replace the OEM 19s. I was inspired by someone’s setup on this forum and very happy with the choice!
Pictures really don’t do justice..

Wheel specs:
Satin Black Niche Vosso
20x9 (front) 27 offset
20x10 (back) 40 offset
No spacers needed.

Tire specs:
295/40/20 rear
265/45/20 front
Continental ExtremeContact DWS06

Car:
2020 X3 M40
Black sapphire metallic

Needless to say next course of duty is blacking out the vents and side mirrors:
- M style side vents (purchased awaiting arrival)
- black M style mirror cap TBD

Very nice! How's the ride on the new wheels? I have the oem square 19s and want something a little more planted at highway speeds.

Not much comment on this yet as I’ve probably had about 35 mins of driving time post-new tires. That said, it does feel maybe a little more harsh than before: as though I feel a lot more. Don’t think it was always like this with the square 19s but I was also paying a lot more attention

I’m also not 100% sure what my tire pressure should be set to... currently 32 front, 35 back. Curious what others are doing for fatter tires???

The square 19s are fine at highway speeds. I did a long-ish drive finally and found that it's too easy to hit 140km-150kms in this car. I even may have briefly hit 160kmph (100mph) on the stock tires.

Everything felt planted. No vibrating etc. Just maybe some wind noise.

One day I'll probably upgrade to Michelin 4S's on 20s but I think I'll be good for a few years.

Nice rims OP. I'm putting some 19' black satin finish winter rims on next week and this has me excited.

Out of curiosity, what size tires are you running? Curious what I should set my tire pressure to with the fatter tires as the ride seems a little more harsh at the moment with the new continentals & 32/35 tire pressure

Hey OP great post. Really wish you posted this exact post about 4 months ago when I was losing my mind on how this pretty much exact setup wheel size + tire size will look on the M40i. lol
And clearly it looks flipping awesome. My wheels and tires will be here this Friday finally waiting since June. I know I finally will have some traction with these meats.

The circumference is 2.5% different from OEM for this setup, right? xDrive will be fine because the 295 and 265 are pretty close to each other. But the Odometer will be off I'm guessing.

Ultimate comfort-combo?

Would this wheel-tire configuration work without rubbing using no spacers?
  • 19x9 ET28 with 265/50 front
  • 19x10 ET40 with 295/45 rear

Edit: Your tire-wheel setup is dope
Using your configuration with 19" looks promising!

I have a similar setup except mine are 295/35/20 and 255/40/20. Coming from a square 20” 245/50/20 winter setup (not sure on the side profile size) the new tires Michelin ps4s also feel a little hardsher. One interesting thing I’ve noticed (not sure if it’s the wider tires or the new wheels) is that when driving on the highway and switching lanes, the money one tired gets over the lane line and the lane likely has a different slant to it, the vehicle is much more wanting to go that direction. On flat roads all is super well and the car will drive straight.

Running the same tire pressure on my DW06’s. Have about 5000 miles on them now and no issues through the winter or now in warmer weather. Staggered, but not as fat as yours.
