I put in my order (X3 m40i) on Feb 11 and still no allocation....so I got you beat! Since then, the world has changed and it's making me wonder if I should look into an electric car instead.

I saw a BMW dealer mention on a competing forum that for an unknown reason the X3 M40i is in short supply. They were seeing 21 allocations available in the US as of a few days ago.

21 allocations? Total left in the US? That can't sound right? Or does that mean we have to be lucky enough to be among the 21? There's like 8 of us in this thread alone

Did you see an update on your car? My other order is an m340, still scheduled for week 18, and it moved to "production scheduled"

21 current open allocations nation wide. Dealers may hold some in order to trade for other allocations. If you already have confirmation it sounds like you should fine. It could explain why build weeks keep getting pushed.

Congrats! I just checked, and I'm still "Order Received". But then again, my dealer told me my week 16>week 18 is now> week 21.
You were still told week 18, eh? I wonder what option I chose pushed me to 21. I mean, I chose just about all of them, so who the heck knows. Soon enough suppose. But I have to admit as the grey skies of winter in Pennsylvania clear a bit, I'm more eager than ever. |

That would be ideal. I've got a wedding up in the NC Smokies at the end of May. I would love to violate the break in rules up on those twisties …. I jest because the warden will be riding shotgun so the fun will be severely limited.

Ordered mine on 3/18 and the dealer traded for an allocation. According to the BMW Genius, it is scheduled for prod the week of May 2nd. Fingers crossed.

So I just got off the phone with bmw genius, it was my first time getting through to a person, I've just emailed them in the past. He said my x3m40 has an estimated completion date of May 20. He isn't able to see any deletions, but sees that the msrp is unchanged, so that's a good sign. They also couldn't tell me where the car was being made? I assumed all x3 m40 were made in South Carolina? I'm really hoping to get my car before memorial day weekend here in NY
