Moving from 21 to 20” wheels

The plastic “chatter” on the interior of 2020 F97 over small road imperfections bothers me. I assume this is (in part) due to the 21” wheels and low profile PS4s. Has anyone tried moving from 21” to 20” wheels with a relatively larger sidewall tire? If so, results?

I have 20" winters on my vehicle for the colder climate driving. It definitely makes a difference in terms of ride and softens the stiff suspension nominally where you could call it an improvement. While it is a necessity for me where I live, I do switch back to the 21" PS4S in the summer. You have more aggressive bite and turn in with those for higher speed maneuvers. If you are not a track junky, I think the 20s will definitely be better for you assuming you don't want to change out your suspension. YMMV

After running the stock 21s all summer, I recently switched back to 20s...OMG what a difference in ride compliance. I bought the X3M with 21s as it had a better ride than the M40i with 20s. THIS car with 20s, though is sublime. I am replacing my summer wheels/tires with 20s, in 265F and 295R.

I look forward to spring!

I had 21" on my 2020. I noticed the difference as soon as I drove the 2022 (with 20") of the dealership lot. Both had the same Run Flat Bridgestone Alenza.

I've switched from 21" PS4S to 255/45R20 Pirelli Scorpions for winter. Noticeable improvement in ride comfort, especially over small road imperfections.

anyone has suggestions on upgrading from stock 18s to 20? seems like all of you like the 20s but I'm curious about tire size.. do I have to get them staggered? or could they be the same all around? and if staggered how would tire rotation happen??

I have a 2018 x3 xdrive G01 with stock 225/60/18 tires currently

This is the X3M (not X3 M40i) subsection, so the stocks are 20s, competition comes with 21s. 18s won't fit on these.
