Help: Replaced battery in Key FOB Remote and can't close...

Background:
I have 2 Key FOB remotes and replaced both batteries today. One of the key fobs refuses to close/lock into place. See photo.

My concern is that I am going to have to buy a new remote and pay $500-$1,000 to reprogram it just because it won't close properly.
I have used lights but cannot see any debris lodged inside.

Please help and tell me what my options are.

Thanks in advance.

Anthony

Have another pair of eyes take a look, preferably someone good with mechanical devices.
