Edit. 20-11 brings M Laptimer. Remote start was just announced on the connected drive store but ONLY for 2022 X3 which didn't come from factory with remote start. Previously this was indicated as ALL idrive 7 cars. I just checked and it is confirmed 2022 X3 and all other SP18 idrive 7 cars (G30 LCI) and all others. |

Android Auto still not visible in the Apps Menu. Dealer / BMW UK cannot see at their "backend" any mention on Android Auto on my car. Paid £112 so going to demand a fix or refund tomorrow. Anyone know anyway of forcing the update. Have done all the usual "update apps" from the options menu. Thanks |

If programming was successful and your car is at 21-03 you should definitely have it. Interesting. I'm sure your dealer will be able to help you out. May have to program it again or try some other things.

Make sure you do:
Firstly: so a full reset of idrive wiping your settings. Certain options don't appear until you do this on 03/21. Then update apps and services from the right click of the app menu . It took 48 hours to appear for me one time . Note 07/2021 doesn't bring any new features that I can see |

As a matter of an update ... (1)
My consumer champion Wife communicated at length with our local dealer and requested a fix and our money refunded as per our consumer rights. This was 2 weeks after the upgrade. Suffice to say the upgrade still wasn't working and I was refunded the £112 programming fee. As a matter of an update ... (2) Today the nice lady at the dealer rings up to say that BMW have fixed their "backend sever" problem and the car should have AA within 24hours. I pop out lunch time and OMG AA is present, together with M Lap Timer and Alexa. Phone pairs nicely and AA works as expected. |

Hey, I'll be bringing mine there in 2 weeks. Called today and next appointment they had for me was Oct 12. O.o I also need them to check the air conditioner as it's not working properly and requested a loaner since who knows how long that would take.

Here's another newbie with may be a dumb question: my new to me 2020 X3 ( build date 07-2020) is still a mystery to me in most ways. How can I determine the iDrive 7 software version? Dealer has yet to call back with any info. I can't locate the features I find online to make that determination for myself, so any help is appreciated.
Thanks! Steve Last edited by BubbaTree; 12-03-2021 at 07:58 PM.. |

Good advice, Ravenous666. This car has ~32K miles on it - are these updates a warranty item, or out of pocket? Cost?
To the audience, what benefits/changes have you seen when you installed the updated software version? I'm curious since I had a phone conversation about this with the local dealership, and was told A) they don't arbitrarily update/change software, and B) they couldn't identify any benefits over the older version. BTW, the only other dealership in the Phoenix area is about 45 miles away. Thanks to all for your help. I'm beginning to miss my E46 M3 more and more! Steve |
