Where did you end up deciding for the install?

Dinan springs and bump stops installed. Of course it started pouring rain after I pulled away. Will report back my experience with it once I have more seat time. Initial impressions are positive. Ride feels more composed and less choppy over imperfect roads.

Almost forgot and hopefully RoWoX3M can back up my experience. I can't tell the difference in ride quality between stock and lowered on the Dinan springs w/bumpstops. I can feel the steering being more direct but that may be from the alignment because the stock numbers were off.

Need more seat time but it's definitely not stiffer than stock despite being advertised as 20% stiffer springs. So far the ride feels more put together and composed of that makes sense.

Thanks! May need to toss on the spacers again but I'll run like this for a bit

I am on 12mm spacers but with the drop, 15mm would be better.

Thanks! Forgot to measure before to verify but Dinan says 1" drop F/R. Seems right eyeballing it in person

I must say that overall ride quality and handling has been positive. It hasn't softened the ride but it's eliminated the harshness for everyday driving. Also noticed it inspires more confidence in bends and turns. Touch less body roll. The only setback is after install I noticed some noise coming from the rear. Reported this to Dinan who is sending out coil isolators to be installed. These will now come standard with the kit.

This is excellent feedback.

You don't have to but it is highly recommended that you do to achieve intended ride quality. Re-using the stock bumpstops will result in a harsher experience

Hi Dinan_Engineering - will these springs work with a 2019 X3 M40i? If not, any plans to support it?

Without having them side by side and testing them I could not say. All I have to go off is that they are different OEM part numbers and as such appear to not be interchangeable. Historically, different chassis parts numbers are not phsycially interchangeable but there are a few instances where they are such as the F15/F85. Good chance the F97/G01 fall into that same category but that is just a guess on my part. Also please keep in mind physical fitment which is being discussed here is not the end all, be all, as that does not take into account differing spring rates, weight distribution which will affect rake/reverse rake, etc. A spring designed for an F85 as an example may be great for that platform but diabolical for the F15 given those differences.

As far as actually developing springs specific to the G01 -- there are no plans at present to develop any hard parts for the chassis.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight and quick response.

Sounds like it'd be a gamble and I'd rather not find out the hard way that either the ride is way too harsh because it was meant for a different platform, or doesn't work at all.

Thanks.

Ok folks. After some back and forth with Dinan tech support and my local installer, finally have a quick and easy solution to the clinks and clanks from the suspension. Had rubber isolators installed yesterday which now allows me to enjoy this kit as intended. Dinan support was excellent and glad the issue is finally resolved.

Great news! Interesting this wasn’t discovered as an issue with their car but sometimes issues don’t show up until out in the wild.
