Interesting that the M40 variants appear to be inheriting the ///M mirrors and a ///M grill badge - hmmm

They also get the M-Twin Slats in the grills.

I only have one question, why? It looked pretty good and now it looks like Chris Bangle gave it a second try.

Does anyone know if the drive feel is different in the x3 vs the x4 ??
Im really liking the way the x4m looks this time around. I dont like the back slope but other than that it looks cool. The x3 is amazing aswell. I always though the x3s felt big and tall when driving. Never drove a x4 tho. Also never drove neither in M |

I think they are including the ///M steering wheel - tri color stitching and all - as well. Although the “is” models (e28/e34 535is/540i Spt., e39 540i MSpt. 6spd, e92 335is, X5 4.6is/X5 - 4.8is and E46 ZHP’s from back in the day are equivalent to the modern day MPerformance cars. They never were appointed with the level of ///M aesthetics these vehicles are getting. It is what it is, times and philosophy change

Long shot - would the MSS non LCI springs fit the LCI?
Wonder if it would be worth switching them back to stock and getting them refitted to LCI. I have them at the moment but factory ride height. |

I really can't tell the difference at this point between the m40i and X3m. Before any enthusiast could easily tell the difference, now I need to really look for the differences in looks. The x3/4m is so diluted now compared to the regular series and it was never distinguished much to begin with.

So let me get this straight: BMW introduces the 'lung' kidney grilles on the G80/G82/G22 in "an attempt to differentiate the lineup from itself" & "bring a unique identity to each model" & now, they're doing the exact opposite by making an M40i look essentially identical to the M variant costing thousands more? The phoney M logos are enough to give the badge seekers who don't know better the satisfaction they need, why dilute your range topping model even further for the people that do know? These vehicles are already so niche/luxury, it just seems like a strange business move....

Plus the same colors offered as for true M? Brooklyn Grey too?
Before LCI I was leaning towards X3MC or X4MC, but given the development after the LCI was announced, I am having a hard time to justify the extra cost over M40i with the tune. S58, quad exhaust tips and illuminated logo on M sport seats? |
