Comparing the well commented pics from last year that envoked alot of chatter... the headlights were maybe ballooned due to the wide eye lens of the photo?

The recent shots gave me a overall different reaction to them.

That new color looks amazing. As a matter of fact, I'm really liking a lot of these new BMW colors. Finally more choices that a bunch of greys and black. The more greens, blues and purples, the better.

There's no other (realistic) car I'm more interested than this G42/G87. Can't wait

Same! I’m actually excited for the regular 2er models too this time. I’m planning to wait for G87 but who knows as a real world ideal daily for the wife mainly, a nice M240i with beefy arches could well suffice.....

Belladonna Purple is probably the closest existing in group color to Thundernight as far as hue, but doesn't have quite as strong contrast intensity.

It is the normal order of things that features appearing on the higher-end M vehicles eventually make their way down to the lesser ones, with actual M racecars standing at the top end of the spectrum and production M Sport trim at the lower end. As previously released features are trickling down the ladder, all-new features keep being introduced higher up to preserve the hierarchy and feed the overall improvement cycle, so that any given model you pick from the M lineup should be objectively sportier than its predecessor (except perhaps the current M135...).

On top of M mirrors the M240i also seems to be getting the M hood bulge, so the M carbon roof may very well be available here as well. This cascading down of iconic M features doesn't seem like a problem to me as long as the hardcore versions in turn keep gaining new race-derived features and remain evidently sportier and more desirable than the lower-tier versions, which they will
