New Special Paint for G01, G02, F97, F98
Begining May 1st for start of production in April 2021, X3/X4 and M variants will have 8 special colors available for order. Pricing will be $4,500, and will run until December. Then in January I believe 20 more colors will come.
They are: Frozen Black Metallic Frozen Marina Bay Blue Metallic Grigio Telesto Pearl Metallic Ruby Red II Metallic Urban Green Malachite Green Metallic Nardo Grey Frozen Deep Gray Metallic This seem like some pretty awesome color choices. A pretty penny for them, but if you are keeping your car, I see people paying for it. My X3 M was alpine white. I loved Donington, but ultimately I would have loved one of these colors for some more uniqueness with all that HP. |

BMW makes all blue colors spectacular, I saw an X5M50i in MBB last time, gorgeous. My personal favorite is TB, don't know if LCI model will bring that to X3&X4.

Very glad to have seen this. Just submitted my build sheet to my sales rep with sapphire black metallic. Will gladly pay the premium for the Frozen Black Metallic. Will be looking for the build sheet with the updated colors come Saturday. Thanks for sharing, I owe you a beer.

20 more colors? Color me skeptical. And $4500 for these colors on an X3? No thanks, these aren't Bentleys.

The $4,500 is better than regular individual prices, $5,000+.

My first BMW was a 2010 E90, Tasman Green over beige (yeah, they didn't have a fancy name for beige at the time) and the Malachite Green Metallic appears to be very close. Assuming I wanted to drop $4500 on paint (actually don't think I do) I'd likely go with Malachite Green Metallic over cognac...I think that would look really nice. I'd also like to see Imperial Blue (I think that's what it was called) as my F30 was that color and it's also very nice.
Thanks for sharing...

Part of it is the fact that they have to pull the vehicle off the normal production line, paint it in a non-standard color, then slot it back into the production line. It's a hiccup in the normal cycle of production which will come at a cost to the consumer of course. It is on the cost prohibitive side of things but it's kind of one of those "you gotta pay to play" kind of things.

It really is a luxury. If you buy a car to keep for several years you don’t want a strong colour because you get sick of it. For 3 years on a lease it’s too expensive.

haha...speaking of extra cost paint...I noticed that on the Aston Martin Vantage many of the special colours are an extra $31,900 AUD!! Almost 10% of the base car price
By the way, where did you see these new colours for the X3? I've tried the BMW USA configurator and couldn't see any new colours...
