2013 X3 2.8i with 72,000 miles. Second owner. Timing chain replaced, turbo replaced and all turbo oil lines due to smoke on startup. EVery single item covered by BMW and all were out of warranty

2014 x3 28i...Second owner, it was a lease return. Have about 80,000 kms (50k miles) on it. Done the brake pads once, oil changes and thats it. Need new tires on it now. About to install a hitch as well to town a small utility trailer to haul our camping gear. Family of four. Kids are 10 and 13.

2016 49k miles. Still looks new. Rear brakes were replaced under free maintenance. Will replace front brakes on my own dime next week. Other than that have replaced tires. With working from home the miles aren’t adding up to fast. Can’t really justify a new car.

2014 28i original timming chain with 162k kms ( ~ 100k miles) . I am the second ( or third) owner. Having concern about the timming chain issue since the day I bought it but it is still running strong. Some mechanics from the independence garage told me my x3 having engine oil leak while maintaining my tranny, but I have never needed to top it up and I did check it myself, still no sign of leaking. Waiting for time ( and money) to swap Valve cover as well as the new timming chain at the same time ( in order to cut down some labor cost). Planning take a road trip soon but not sure the X3 can make it. Somebody says that mine is reaching the end of its life.

2013 X3 28i with 72k mi
Just did the timing and oil drive chains ~500mi ago. Engine had startup rattle. Found that timing guides were falling apart and had separated at the pivot point. |
