Successfully changed the oil at my in-laws (we're waiting for new home to be built) without getting a drop of oil on the ground.

Today I installed my timing and oil pump drive assembly and oil pan. Next is the subframe and front driveline. Posting for the 1st time so I can wait an hour and then ask what the oil pan torque specs are for the N20 engine. Also need to know the subframe to chassis, differential to oil pan, and axle carriers to oil pan torque specs are.

I am so close to being done! I just have to install the front passenger seat.
Today I spent most of the day swapping my interior from Oyster to Chestnut. I also had the door trims painted gloss black to match the theme of the car.

It looks like you have chestnut sport seats for the front? Condition of those seats look nice. Where did you get those seats?

Yes, the old Oyster interior was factory sport interior (Msport X3) and the Chestnut is also sport interior. I found someone on eBay parting out a crashed X3 with this interior.

Car just hit 124k, and has been 6k since the last oil change. It was a great opportunity to test out my new toy, my Quick Jack mid lift
Not sure if this mos2 stuff works, figured i'd at least give it a chance Still using old fashioned jack stands .... just in case I've always used SeaFoam in my past cars at the 100k mark. this time around, I thought I'd give this Liqui Moly Engine Flush stuff a try After oil changed, used Carly to reset maint counter For those interested, here is a prev UOA from black stone labs. I will send in this sample soon ish, and will report back |

I don't bother with my quick jacks for an oil change. I drive up onto a pair very low ramps I made from some 2x12 screwed together, which is much quicker. Understand you wanting to try out your new toys though, I've had mine for a few years and have lifted several vehicles with them. For safety, I put the jack stands under one end of the quickjack instead the frame, which provides better access to under the vehicle. Even got the extension kit from home depot to lift my truck. |
