Should I buy this 2007 x3 3.0?
Hi all. My DD is an F10 M5. Looking to buy a 2006-2007 X3 inline 6 with around 140k miles. Are these trucks reliable at this high mileage? What should I expect. Won't be putting many miles on it as it will be just a winter vehicle. They're asking 5,999

I don’t think any BMW with over 100K miles is reliable.

It depends on the quality of the car. How’s the oil pan look? Suspension been replaced yet? BMW makes amazingly durable vehicles IF they’re treated right. If proper maintenance has been done and worn parts replaced as needed, you can pretty easily take that thing another 100k miles.
The problem is many people treat their BMW like a civic and run it until something breaks or wears out. The whole thing with BMW is to NOT let that happen. Really the choice is do you want to spend more money now, or later? Lol |

This one looks like a winner to me. All the proper maintenance has been done. I've bought 4 BMWs, without ever having touched them. Never a problem with any on them. Had #4 for 10 yrs now. Understand money never actually changed hands until I flew/drove and checked them out.

Any car with those many miles will need maintenance. BMWs need little more.
We bought My wife's 06 X3 at 105k miles. Over 6 years I have spent couple of grand on it for repairs from suspension/ transfer case/drivetrain etc. if I add the total cost, it's worth it. at 140k miles, muffler delete and 275 square setup tires, this little SAV is blast to drive. We still take it to 1000+ mile road trips during winter. The engine is very reliable and pulls strong. If you find a decent car, get ppi done. Be ready to some some money. U can get used parts for much less money. Drives like a car and plenty of space. Enough power to have fun. Honestly speaking, after driving friends' v fast cayenne S and X4M40I over many miles, I prefer driving this X3. If you ask me, buy it. |
