2021 vs 2020 Suspension
Does anyone know if the suspension settings are the exact same for both model years ? Hoping the comfort setting magically changed...

What we need is the same as we had with F80 forum on here a list of istep updates as that was invaluable in upgrading the car through its life with each firm wear iteration, as they made some major changes to power delivery and damping. (however if it's the springs then that won't really make a difference) and the F80 never got softer during its life time as an example...

This would be nice to see.
Is it true that the MSS kit people have been installing improves the ride?

I still don't understand the issue with the oem suspension. My wife had two disc surgeries and when she is a passenger and we drive city and highway for hours she doesn't complain. She does complain about the ASD though

I've also owned the M3 Competition and that was horrible - the CS improves on the ride considerably. This shouldn't be understated - but the X3M is hard. If I was to try and compare I'd say that the X3M in comfort is closer to the M3 CS in Sport Plus suspension. The X3M is still very compliant though. I'll probably be going ahead with the X3M tomorrow as I just love it in many different aspects, but any improvement to the ride would be welcome.

For what it’s worth, I have a 21 X3M and had at 2017 M3 Comp. In comfort mode the X3M appears on par(maybe a little softer) than the M3. In sport plus, it’s definitely harsher. |

As myself and several others have repeated, I find my X3MC quite comfortable and it got better past 2000 miles on the clock. The suspension can be a little busy but both wife and I never find it to be harsh or jarring. I click the suspension into sport+ any time I'm driving fast or cornering aggressively and even that is fine IMO. |

I hear ya. It would probably be very similar due to lower center of gravity will compensate. I hit a corner (Uk roads) at around 130mph and notice roll getting progressively heavy but surprisingly not bad for a SUV.

This gets rehashed all the time. A fair amount of people think the suspension isn't great, a fair amount love it. I don't think it's something you could convince either side about, as it's their past experience with other cars. My take is it's the dampening that is the problem, it bounces way more than any sports car I've owned. That said it doesn't crash as hard over potholes, say the way a m4 does. The engine is a blast though, and I look forward to the MSS springs helping out. Space, performance, and price make it a winner. Though if out of the factory the seats where a touch more comfortable and it bounced less it would be a absolute dream car.

19/20 staggered setup Carbon bonnet Carbon ceramic brakes (in my case) Remapped dampers Base M3 springs (not comp) Wider tires All of these things combined make the CS infinitely more comfortable and compliant than the M3 Competition I had prior. As a CS owner and someone who spent an hour or so driving the X3M on all manner of roads yesterday, I stand by my comment that the X3M is a harder ride than the CS. It was immediately noticeable, though it sounds like the MSS kit dials things back just enough to make it a complete non issue, which I'm really happy to hear.
