Ah I see. Seems silly that given all the customization options and tech level of the car in general, that you can’t change the brightness of the cockpit. Especially given that you can change the brightness of the dash screen and hud !

No I don't regret it but really wish it was not auto dimming. I would say it dims about half brightness. It's not too bad until I have sunglasses on then it's harder to see. I have HUD which helps a lot. I hope someone figures out a code to shut off the auto dim.

Yes. 3.5 update is out.

Fog lights with highbeam and parking lights is added. Fog lights with highbeam verbiage is a little confusing, that's not BimmerCode's Fault, the option in code is a negative.

Also Angel Eye brightness is an option. Each Headlight (r/l) needs to be done.

@BimmerBell91 had the following tip for VDL (variable light distribution)

So, I use a E-Sys cable with a lightning adapter to my iPhone. When you connect, select BDC. Go into expert mode. Scroll to the bottom and select the one that says Lamaster 1. There are two things in there you want to change. First you need to find C_AFS_ENA and make sure it’s enabled. The second you want to find is LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y and make sure you have the one with 00 00 00 selected. On mine it was G011_AFS. After you change both of those, press code and once it finishes you should be good. That’s all I had to do to get it to work on mine. I can go back in and take screen shots so you can see what I’m talking about if you need me to.

I coded that, but won't be able to test for a bit.

It seems the M sport display is half way fixed now.
We get the M logo on the top of the screen but the current driving mode is still not displayed. I checked in all driving modes Comfort Eco Sport, and the description in the tach screen is missing. Too bad I really wanted to try out the M display to switch it up from the Alpina one for a bit.

I coded the VLD using the above method, haven’t been able to test whether or not it’s actually active (will I be able to tell when it’s in action and how so?). However, given that you are only coding the “Y” or vertical axis of the lights, does that enable it to work fully? From what I’ve read, VLD also includes some motion in the “X” or horizontal axis as well. Also, has anyone figured out how to do the euro spec anti dazzle high beams, or the auto high beams (meaning the “a” symbol in the dash turns on as soon as the lights turn on, without hitting the “a” button on the stalk).

I have the 2020 X3 with the 3D camera and parking assistant plus, so it should do both Parallel and Perpendicular parking. I also have the Live Cockpit. I thought I was getting the back-up (reverse) assistant since I've seen this together on many videos, but it is not there. It appears to be on the X5, X7, and 330i. I think they all have all the same sensors and cameras on both vehicles. So I was wondering if it can be "switched" on to show in the Parking assistant menu and use it?

Have you coded your X3 with BimmerCode? Perhaps you disabled Camera Warning? If you did, you are know experiencing a bug and you lost your instructions on-screen. Re-enable the warning will bring screen instructions back for parking assistance.

Let me know if this was the issue, pls.

according to this thread, backup assistant is not yet available on the X3. I have a 2020 M40i and can confirm it is not on my car which has every available tech option. If you find out otherwise, please post!

Whoops, I should have read more carefully.

The backup assist option is not on our X3s. It began as an X5 feature. We have the iDrive 7 and Cockpit Pro.. but a few features are missing - like the backup feature. Also Remote Start not an option. Which is a real shame.

I also expected that with the Driving Assistant, with active blind spot detection, and front collision warning, one could set the view on the Instrument cluster middle panel to Drive Assistant view - but it's not an option either on the X3 - disappointing. Since it has all the same cameras (w/live cockpit & 3D), and sensors why would not the X3 have this view?

New BimmerCode 3.5 version still has the M Display broken even more.
1. It does not work when shifting the gear shifter to the left for S mode. The display where the tach is goes blank. Until you actually change to manual mode and shift gears.
2. And in Sport or Sport + mode the tach in the overhead display doesnt display the tach anymore with the M display coded.
3. No redline of rpm cutoff is shown in the display tach on the M mode.

Code DZM_VARIANTE (I forget which module it is in but it’s in expert mode for either BDC_BODY, DKOMBI4 or HU_MGU, sorry if my codes are different as I am on G20 platform), to benziner_b58 and you will get RPM limits with M instrument cluster.

Quick question- I had the iDrive 7 update to enable the 3d surround view on the connected app. After the software it worked without an issue. When they updated the software it wiped my coding. Recoded it, but now the 3d has stopped working. Anyone have any experience with which coding option may interfere with this? The other connected functions work, just not the 3d view. It says failed to activate cameras. I would like to get that functionality back and do not want to go aback to the dealer and have them reflash it again. Thanks!
