Apocalypse Now... Welcome home, Mr. Sophisto

Here is proof... you can actually buy a car during an Apocalypse! It seems all hell broke loose... steadily, yet surely ever since I placed my order back in February (the 7th). I wasn't really planning on a new car until the end of the year, but massive incentives going on... plus it was my Pre-Birthday Weekend? Why the hell not! Lol... UGH.

I was driving a rare MSport RWD E91 and I ended up taking a $5k hit on the sale, based on what it would have gone for had I listed it just two weeks prior. I consider myself lucky I got $15k for it though, since I managed to sell it right as things were going into lockdown.

Quite the experience picking this thing up, since my Stealership went into lockdown the very day it arrived. So the next day (today) I arranged the whole deal via email. Since they were technically "closed", they agreed to deliver my vehicle curbside across the street from their showroom. It was like doing a drug deal for my car! Haha... Welcome home, Mr. Sophisto!

Wish my dealer would do this. Mine arrived at the dealer Monday. And my 'wonderful' salesman had no clue. I called BMW to track it, but they informed me it was delivered already. Then Tuesday at 12:01am my state went on lockdown. One of the non-essential no-no's is selling cars. So there it sits at least until mid April.

I feel for you. Luckily, I have a very good rapport with my dealership developed over many years. They offered to do this, letting me know I wasn't *just anybody* coming in off of the street...

Any chance you worked with my guy Andy Werner? Also: wish I'd known about your Msport E91--That IS a rare car. Manual or automatic?

beautiful ride! These cars are actually quite fun to drive. The B58 is a great engine. I work at Plant Spartanburg in engineering - I'm curious to hear if you experience any issues A lot of the complaints we receive are due to lack of customer knowledge.

Sweet! Looks nice. Didn't realize how good the cognac would look with the grey.. making me regret my boring black.

I agree on the congac. Around where I live, black and white comprise 90% of the exterior colors and having owned 2 black cars before, I wanted none of that. So that left blue, silver or graphite. My only other qualifier was congac or brown leather. Ended up with the blue with congac and couldnt be happier. The congac looks great with the graphite too!

Thanks for all you do! Brilliant piece of machinery. Yeah, no "BSK" (Between Seat and Keyboard) problems here...

Nope. My Internet sales guy when I bought my wagon is now the GM (Tyke). And Adam was my CA, who now is the sales manager. Wagon was automatic...

In my book, you can't go wrong with a black interior. Still the best and it's the most sought after interior color when it's time to trade/sell.

I have the same combination minus the rims - I picked the 19" for the better ride. Your new ride is beautiful!

Super safe but super boring. Black hole of Calcutta. You need contrast inside. The auto trade perpetuates that black is best...time to fight this. This issue is that 3 or 4 colours divide opinion...personally I’ve not had a black interior for 30 years...never had a problem on resale other than moaning dealers who feel black gives them an easy life.

Yeah. Logically, unless your car is parked in your house like a showroom, you spend a lot more time inside the car than outside,. So for me, I like to make it a little more interesting for the interior (the only exterior panel you can see while inside is just a small patch of the hood. LOL) Red might be a stretch for many to accept, but all the other non-black options are no fancier than the sofa sets in IKEA.

I think a nice contrasting color really sets off the car and it can be seen while you enter or exit as well as when you're parked unless you've got side windows tinted dark.

The one exception I'd make is oyster. Looks good but man, I'd think it would get dirty just from the blue dye in your jeans. Red wouldn't scare me and it looks good with a white exterior but I won't own a white car. For me, it speaks rental or chick's car. Sorry.
