How do you get the flaps open so when the fuse is removed they stay open rather than closed?

Enable Sport or sport plus will open - pull fuse, or you can disconnect at the actuators or you can code it open.
It does a little bit but it's still pretty quite. Have fun! |

as above start engine toggle through modes from efficient to sport+ you will hear the valves open leave engine running and pull fuse 203.
once pulled if you go back into the car and try to toggle through the modes nothing will change between them you can hear the valves stay open.

I believe so but 2 mins pulls the fuse. very easy. Sounds way better. Pull the fuse for the fake noise (218) at the same time. Again big difference

You can disable ASD (which is different from the exhaust valves) but you cannot control the valves via bimmercode.
You can either pull a particular fuse, or disconnect the wiring harness on the valves themselves when they are in the open position. |

Yep - but use the red fuse puller!
I did the same as you the first time, no change with the engine off. Then I tried it with the engine running in Sport but as noted elsewhere it can be a bit hit/miss if the valve isn't at the right position. There was a bit of extra noise that time, but not much. Third time was obviously the charm, and now it's noisy as f*ck on cold start and I'm getting full exhaust flow on both sides. Happy days |

Did this today there's a decent burble on sport plus and starting up so it's nice to have as default.
The only thing is can't be 100% sure the values are fully open.... I just started car in sport plus and pulled the fuse within 30 seconds. |

You should be fine, mine have been open ever since. Shine a light up the tailpipes and you should see the flaps no probs

If these are anything like my Audi platform, pulling the fuse or disconnecting the flaps could result in power loss on the top end. It's been tested with the RS3, the car throws a soft code and limits some of the power on the top end.
If anyone feels like their car is slower after pulling the fuse this is likely why. |
