If they have coded it out for certain regions, there has to be a legitimate reason. I would think stringent regulations are not being met, or something related to potential litigation issues. If you get in an accident as a direct result of you enabling a feature that was not intended to be enabled for your region, is BMW at fault? Even though your BMW just steered itself into another vehicle?? I don't think so... |

If the hardware is there and functional, coding it on or off (like disclaimer nags) isn't dangerous. FDL coding is like changing registry entries in a Windows PC. It's not the same as VO coding, which attempts to tell the car it has something it may not. Face it: today's cars are platforms with wheels to keep the computer from scraping the ground. People are going to experiment with them as a hobby.

People will turn it on and use it using the same logic that makes people ride on 21" summer tires in Boston winter weather. Do you think that the warning the wheel seller give the buyer telling him he's insane makes any difference? I am pleased it (appears to be) hard to code. That's not going to stop a substantial number of Massholes from doing it and crashing. But it doesn't mean BMW had a safety reason to code it off especially when it's the same hardware and software functionality (presumably) worldwide.

FYI, after the coding is done make sure you are on a road which has a median / barrier between oncoming traffic.
This is a requirement of the system, it wont work on roads that dont have a barrier between the traffic. although i have a 2019 with ID 6 |

Coded this today but no luck. I'm in Australia. Anyone got it working here? My car is 2019 G01 X3 with 5AT- Driver Assistance Plus. I-Step S15A-20-03-540. No reason this isn't working in Australia. Confused now... |

Can confirm it works on my G08 2020 X3(CN version of G01). And it's also possible to change the default above 70km/h triggering speed. It's also in the SAS module. Thanks for sharing!
