In fact, if acceleration is all you care about, at this price range and I would rather add 10 more k and buy the M5 that would absolutely wipe the floor with both cars in terms of 0-60 performance. Compared to the newest MB SUVs like the GLE, the interior even of the refreshed GLC looks dated and inferior. It does not have the gorgeous 12+12 digital panel of the newest MB products. In fact, MB will bring out a brand new GLC 63 in 2022.
We are discussing the X4 and the GLC Coupe. I have never looked but I am sure the regular GLC has similar trunk space the the X3.

I don't care about family friendly or carrying stuff, I just like fast SUVs and I like how I sit in them in a more leg bend fashion.

Wipe the floor is a strong statement. The M5 is faster in 0-60 ~(2.7 compared to 3.3 in the real world which makes the SUV even that much cooler to me.

Remember the C in GLC indicates the next to lowest MB model in the line so of course the GLE is nicer. The X3M is the top notch X3.

I need to take my buddies out but anytime he's in town the car is in the shop. He tends not to leave a single thing stock on his cars so his shop always has it and putting more and more parts on it.

He spent like $40,000 getting his RS3 where he wanted (aftermarket turbos, fuel system change to E85, custom ECU tunes, Meth, all new suspension) and probably put 2,000 miles on it before he sold it. He tends to do that a lot.

Apart from Eibach Pro springs, it is stock.

Normally when your comparing cars like for like it usually starts with the engine. These cars have totally different engine capacities even if they deliver ‘similar’ bhp. But they do not have similar torque so to me this this is not a good way to compare just because they are roughly same size SUV’s. if the X3 had a V8 or vice verse then worth a head to head.

The problem is that the non-coupe GLC 63 S is not even available in US. The non-coupe GLC 63 has 19 cu. ft of cargo space which is still significantly less than X3 M (28). I couldn't even fit a folded full size stroller inside.

That's totally fine. I like fast SUVs too, but they have to be somewhat family friendly.

2.7 vs 3.3 sec is a 20% difference, which is indeed huge... 20%!

That is not true. There is GLA, which is the lowest MB SUV. Then there is GLB which is brand new. GLB is below GLC, but has that awesome modern MB interior. Check it out! If GLB didn't look like a shoebox, i would consider buying one for my wife. X3M has exactly the same position in the BMW lineup as the GLC63 for Mercedes. X3 is above X2 (GLB competitor) which is above X1 (GLA competitor). There is also the X5 (GLE competitor) and X7 (GLS competitor).

I think with the introduction of the GLC, I would think that the GLA would better compete with the X2 due to the "hatch-like" design, while the GLB would go against the X1 with its more conventional and practical shape.

I don't consider 20% a lot faster when you are comparing a true trackable sedan to a SUV. Don't get me wrong, the M5 is likely my favorite car. The new M3 will probably be on my list too.

By "next to lowest MB model in the line", I was referring to AMG offerings which the GLA is the lowest line and then the GLC. Of course, you have the AMG lites(43) in most of the models too.

Looks like the GLC is nose down on the top end.... seems possibly a swayed review as the cars have basically the same power and weight. I think the GLC was off throttle because pulling away that hard takes a lot more power.

Yes, I know bro. I'm currently obsessed with the RSQ8. Just saw it at the LA auto show. What a beast! Trying to convince my wife that we need a bigger SUV too.

I can't believe I'm sitting here on this forum looking at a video and thread of 2 SAV's going head to head regarding performance and that's actually a thing (let alone a desirable thing)! I guess that's the market today.

2 ugly truck-cars from company's that realistically don't make good truck-car/suv/sav's.....never understood it.

This is what I don’t understand. Why would someone who hates performance SUVs come to this forum, where most of the users actually own this “ugly truck-car”, and post complete garbage like above? In other news, you need to check how to write the plural form of ‘company’...

Yes, I like the RSQ8 too but I don't even need the size/space of my GLC. I got rid of my GLE because it was to big for me...lol...

99% of the time, I am the only one in my car.

I think you are on the wrong forum but obviously you have an interest in the ugly SUVs or you wouldn't be on here.

...or...you probably just got you tail handed to you by one and you went on here trying to search what did that to you....

Have you ever driven one of these?? They go around nurburgring faster than some hot hatches out there. They stay flat around corners and really are performance vehicles. I have a GLC63s coupe and a BMW e92 M3 with a Supercharger and I probably prefer the GLC63s coupe for every day driving and takes off just as fast due to the all wheel drive traction. They are wider and lower than your standard SUVs so no risk rolling them due to the higher centre of gravity and are very comfortable (not sure about X4mc as I haven't driven one yet). I still love my BMW e92 M3 don't get me wrong but appreciate both for what they are
In regards to performance, they are just as good as some super cars 10 years ago

Lol "my tail handed to me" okay Toretto! Who the F is street racing anymore? Most importantly..... who the F is street racing sav's? Lol.

Damn, so glad this forum represents just s tiny and shrinking fraction of the folks that are actually buying BMWs and are in the road today.
