2013 x3 f25 28i rattling noise
2013 x3 28i...
This is video of my car when I start engine. What is wrong with my car? Should I put some WD into exhaust pipe? Or valve cleaner and Injection cleaner will help this? Or should I change exhaust muffler? Please help me. |

WD-40 in the exhaust pipe likely will not help this issue. I suspect that is the turbo waste gate rattling or the butterfly valve in the muffler.
Look under the car above the pipes leading out of the muffler, you should see the butterfly valve. Repeat the conditions that cause the sound and watch the butterfly valve at the same time. If you see it freaking out, we can go further from there. If its operating normally I would say you may need to replace the turbocharger.

That sounds like it is coming from the rear. Your turbo wastegate is way up front so that would not be my first suspicion. As Cool said, the first thing to check is the butterfly valve. The valve itself is inside the exhaust, but the thing that opens and closes it is on top near the back shortly before the tailpipe tips. It's a cylinder the size of a large plum with a line running to it. See if the arm coming out that operates the valve feels loose. Or hold it while recreating that condition. Or I think you can see the valve itself inside the inboard tailpipe. Stick something in there to jam it tight like a piece of rag and see if the vibration stops.
