Yeah I heard back from them today. Looks like I may need to pick up a used Android device or hold off on this.
TheCoolX3 Let me know if you have any luck using that android emulator. |

I'll send you an LG G4 if you PM me. Had it sitting around for years and the battery probably blows, but it should work.

Make sure your android device is able to hold a charge. This way when flashing your tablet won't shutdown in the middle of a flash.

I joined in on the beta and despite some hiccups getting it to flash everything is working good now. For some reason, my X3 just seemed to think it was already flashed so wouldnt let me flash any of the custom maps the had sent. Chatted with them a bit this morning though and they gave me a few steps to try and that got everything all sorted out. A couple things ill mention for now since I have only had it flashed for the day and havent been able to really test it yet.
1: The manual says 30 min to flash....mine took about 4 and half minutes to do the initial install, and then maybe a minute to flash. So very quick. 2: Seems to be working good, the short little bit I was able to give it the shifts were definately quick 3: Messaged them to ask about the launch control and how to engage it. I think its the same as vehicles that came factory equipped with it. 4: As they mention it now has a gear indicator in normal "D" mode to show you what gear its in. Past that once i have more miles on it i will try and come back and give a better impression. |

My Thor WiFi adapter came in. Of course, I was chomping at the bit for the xHP beta, so went and bought an OTG cable yesterday to use with my BimmerGeeks cable. The whole install and map flash took 5-6 minutes. Map change is like half a minute to a minute, IIRC. I can't imagine it'll flash much faster than that with the WiFi adapter, if at all.
Overall, I like the stage 2 xHP map so far. It's subtle, but noticeable. The faster shifts aren't harsher, but are smoother. Shift points in D are better than stock, for sure. Slightly more prolonged through the gears, which is good. S and Sport+ are near stock except for the improved shifts. Manual shifting seems equally firm and less delayed when using the paddles. It downshifts under deceleration with no throttle at higher RPM, which gives nicer burble. lol. Gonna try maps 1 and 3 later and see how the Thor does. I haven't tried launch control yet to see if it's enabled. Not sure if maybe Eco-Pro coasting is enabled, but worth checking, too. It would be nice to have the customization pack option. I'd like to enable 8th gear in Sport+. Perhaps not in S gear mode, though. Ability to alter shift points would be nice, too, to tailor to the powerband. Adjustable launch control will be nice when it's available, too.

It sounds like the Customization License options will be included for 8-speed users soon. Per Clemens: "Custom options are coming in the next weeks. They are included for all 8-Speed users."

Does it feel like it does anything about the half-second or so lag when you get on the gas before it decides to downshift? Always feels like the transmission is waiting to decide if you really mean it.

I flashed and drove the stage 3 map all day today. It's not nearly as aggressive in S/Sport+ as I thought it might be. It tends to hold gears slightly longer than stock, and downshifts nicely on decel. Map changes take 30 seconds to flash and another 30 seconds or so to complete with the Thor adapter. Pretty much the same as the USB connection.

Only the stock ATF to coolant heat exchanger. I have the parts for a large external cooler for it, but haven't gotten around to installing it.

Anyone on stage 3 xhp tried launch control?
Initial install was under 5 mins (bimmer geeks cable) and mhd reflash (3mins) https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1161417 |

So after getting excepted through FB messenger and emailing them my info as they requested. I did not hear back. I reached back out through messenger after a day and they told to communicate with them there, because it was to tricky to track communication in various places. So I sent them my email for the invoice and download last week and did hear back until yesterday.
They told me beta was coming to an end and I would not be able to participate. I asked if they could make an exception since I sent all my info via email initially and then messenger and was told again today they would not. The irony is that I got the device I needed today (Thanks again doodlebro!) So the million dollar question to those that got the beta, do you guys think it's worth the $350. Especially considering bootmod3 (which I have) has a TCU flash in beta now. |

I'm interested in whether or not they actually figured out gear display in regular comfort mode. Does anyone have the ability to read CAFD's off their X3 after they flash this so we can see if it's a simple FDL change?

I would say yes because I know that when bm3 rolls out the TCU flash it will not immediately support X3

Im not sure if this is coincidence or I am losing my mind but unless I am manually shifting I can not get the car to go into 6th gear. The car will go from 5th to 7th or 7th to 5th and just skip 6th gear. The gear changes are still fast and smooth which I thought was odd for just skipping a gear.
Have you guys had this 'issue'?

Reverted car to stock trans flash then back to XHP, all is well and car goes into 6th. Not sure if it was just software freaking out or what happened.

Alright guys the BM3 TCU Flash is out! I flashed it today. Unfortunately it's been raining here nonstop so I haven't really got to ring it out.
Initial impression are:
I see the guys over in the F30 forum talking about 3rd/6th gear tq limiters removed. Not sure that is an issue on our platform at least in 3rd I haven't logged 6th since my bm3 flash. I'll update as I drive it more.

Torque limiter is definitely an issue on our cars. I worked with Dzenan awhile back as a tester and he got it to go away on a few maps. Glad to see it's ready for primetime.

I drove few cars with paddle shift,
- 2010 cayenne was slow as hell. lot of delay (conventional auto trans) - 2009 IS350 , is was also very slow. (conventional auto trans) - Audi A4 B7. Slower than all the one on this list, but the audi intent is to put a ''gear selector on a conventional cheap automatic transmission'', aka tip tronic. - Then a Veloster with a dual clutch. Transmission was fast, but I was expecting much more from a dual clutch. - And finally , the GTI DSG, which was almost instant. The ZF8 is impressive fast for a conventional auto and for a suv (N55 X3 M pack). I can't see how a flash can make it drastically faster, considering the torque converter must be the bottleneck. It feels somewhere between the veloster and GTI (closer to veloster tho). this is probably why they put this transmission on the new M5 and supra. at the end no matter how fast it is, it will remain boooring Last edited by oVeRdOsE.; 06-19-2019 at 02:40 PM.. |

I will update once I do and post a new e30 pull. Halim sent me a thrid version I need to log. The upshifts burps are definitely more noticeable with the shifter to the right!
