Navigation Can't Take Me Home!!!

My new X3 navigation system does not have my house number in the database. It can find "Main Street" but can't find "123." When I search for Main Street all house number are greyed out. You can't select any numbers or input any either. If I search for the address by voice; saying the house number and street name, it locates and I can then go to it. My BMW dealer service department checked and found that that is "normal." This does not seem normal to me. Anyone having a similar issue? BTW my street is not new nor is the house number.

Can't you just navigate to the street, surely you can find your house from there?

I know there is a 'save current position' option in the Nav. Haven't tried it myself, but I wonder if you can save your home position and let the Nav bring you home like that.

How new is your shouse compared to the age of your map loaded in nav? My house when newly built took over 2 years until it could map to it. I use GPS location to get me close. Was a pain to tell friend how to get to my house.

That's the truth. You never want your exact house # in the nav system. Always make it at least 20 digits (+ or -) away.

Having your home address in the Nav is irrelevant if you keep your insurance information and registration in the glove box.

I would just move to a new address the bmw has in it's database.
