Oh look - Porsche did a CF roof on an SUV
this is what BMW should have done, at least with the X4M, if not both cars, looks awesome on the Porsche

Well considering the Cayenne is not an X3/4 competitor but an X5/6 competitor, I think there isn't really a comparison here. But sure, BMW should have done it, at least on the Comp model.

8 series (non M) has it as an option, give us a $3,000 CF roof option on the comp and I bet a ton of people would pay it. |

Looks almost identical in design to the BMW CFRP roof series - clearly aerodynamic testing has revealed something beneficial about that central aero channel regardless of a vehicle's design or size. Even considering Porsche's pricing schedule, doesn't seem unreasonable:
'Lightweight Sport Package' - Sport Design Package in the exterior color, carbon Interior Package, Heated multifunction Alcantara Sport Steering Wheel, CFRP roof, 22" GT Design Wheels, Standard Interior in Black/Silver Houndstooth, Alcantara Roof liner, CFRP rear diffuser, and Sport Exhaust system for $11,570. And, if the Canada site is any indication, we might not even be able to opt out of the roof rails and heavy moon roof for our X3M Comps? |
