Purchased a new 2019 Phytonic Blue X3 sDrive30i about a month ago. First time BMW owner now that my kids graduated from college. Never thought I would own a luxury vehicle and so glad I took the plunge! It feels like I am riding on glass the ride is so smooth on rough Southeast Louisiana roads compared to my old Camry, and it's amazingly quiet.
Figured out much of the feature set but do have one question. In my old car, it displayed mileage and time of current trip, reset after the car had been idle for 30 mins or so. It's the only feature I miss. Is this offered somewhere in a feature or can it be coded? Thanks in advance! |

If I understood correctly as to what you are looking for, when in a split view mode in iDrive you can have the trip computer show which will do what your Camry has. You can also show the onboard computer which is more of a lifetime distance to empty, avg MPGs, and avg, MPH.

Congrats with the new X3 and Phytonic Blue is the best color
I also own a couple of Toyota's so I think you are looking for something like 'Current trip since start' that mine also give current trip's gas mileage. No, I don't think this is a feature available in our X3. If this is important, you will have to do the trip odometer reset to get the info. My X3 is also my first BMW and likewise, I enjoy every minute driving it. Enjoy the ride |

Congrats on the new car. You should have that feature on your I-drive display. It is on one of the six tiles. In German it is called "mein Fahrzeug" and it shows trip fuel consumption, average speed, distance and elapsed time. You configure how you want it to reset.

Welcome and congratulations!
Maybe it's region specific, but the car can do it. Only culprit is that It does it after 4 hours, not 30 mins. That interval cannot be changed. If you already don't have, download BMW Driver's guide to your phone and see, if it's mentioned there.
