Weathertech Floor Mats
Bought a set of front Weathertech molded mats for my X3. I had some cheap mats from Walmart that were not very good as far as keeping dirt off the carpets. Being that it is winter my feet get wet and have road salt on them getting in and out of the car so I wanted something to keep the carpets clean. Unfortunately these Weathertech mats are not so great as far as fit. They are to short by about an inch from front to back. Side to side they fit good. I had to roll up a piece of rubber to wedge them forward. I can't use the hooks provided cause they would bring the mats to the rear away from the gas pedal and foot rest allowing dirt and water to get under the mat. I thought these mats would be high quality and that they were "custom molded to the car". I don't know why but the ones I have are not. They are better than what I had but I am disappointed with them. It's not the end of the world but I expected better. So don't believe everything you hear.

Interesting. I have the BMW branded version, but I’m pretty sure they are made by WeatherTech as they appear to be identical. My car is a 2014.
Mine fit perfectly and still look new after five years. I’d call WeatherTech. Great company in my experience. Either they should make it right or refund so you can get the OEM version (assuming they are different?). Good luck! |

I considered the weathertech mats. When I realized they were more than four times the cost of adjustable mats I could get at Walmart I decided to try the walmart mats for $25 and toss them or give them away if they were not satisfactory. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they fit. They look like they are made for the car. Now, the difference is the waltmart mats do not "lip" as high as weathertech mats are supposed to. In very sloppy weather a bit of slop can get under them. I haven't had much problem. What little salt and grit that has seeped under the driver's mat I can easily have cleaned by a detail hand wash. I'm interested in the experiences of others.

I like the weather tech floor liners but the driver side needs to remove the Velcro circles and put in the hooks to hold it in place. This creates a small hole for the dirt and water to fall in. I actually took out the driver side mat and put the Bmw brand carpet mat in as I like a softer carpet feel on my feet. And it's super easy to take off and clean out. But the dirt does fall in the sides. A quick vacuum takes care of that

+1,000,000 Same here. BMW branded Weatertech mats. Perfect fit, no gaps, they hook up with the velcro rounds, no issues. P.S.: I have the same (BMW branded) for my 335 is coupe and same fit and finish with velcro rounds. Absolutely no mess and no drips.

I have WeatherTech on 3 cars and they fit X3 perfectly. Not so perfect on my older Acura RDX though.

I have a set of weathertechs in my 2011 X3 and they fit really good. Ive had weathertechs in quite a few vehicles and always found they fit good.

I actually noticed the same fit issue as the OP. Wasn't thrilled, but I have to wonder if they do that purposefully, to avoid them getting stuck under the pedal?
