Stop/Start and Auto windscreen wiper memory settings
Hi all,
I have a 2012 M Sport in the UK. I hate stop/start! Is there anyway I can switch this off permanently as opposed to keep having to press the button next to the stop/start button each time I start the car? The same with getting the car to remember my auto windscreen setting so they automatically come on when it rains as opposed to me having to press the button on the stalk? I guess I’m asking how can I get the car to remember and retain my preferences/settings instead of having to set them each time I get in the car? Thanks in advance 👍🏽 |

Coding
Stop/Start can be coded with the rights tools to either be off, on or remember last setting, but I am not aware of coding for the auto wipers.

Ah ok I wasn’t sure whether it was an idrive secret setting somewhere. Sounds more like a plug in and re code thing?
I’ll see what they can do when it goes in for service. Thanks |

Check with your dealer. In the US, the owners complained so much about the start stop that BMW issued a bulletin to the dealers to code the system so that it would remember "last used mode" on startup instead of defaulting to on
