idk, again I prefer the offset look. I think it gives it more stance and more aggressive look. everyone has center mounted plates with drilled holes in their bumper...have to do something different. after all, these x3 will be running around everywhere in the next 6-9 months lol.
Ours is in the front window as of now. Easily seen, but I assume illegal. The M40i doesn't leave the garage much so that isn't a fear. The US Millworks mount has shipped. Hopefully I can put it on the car this weekend.

I know in VA it isn't allowed. I was doing that a few years ago, got pulled over once with a warning. then a second time by a sheriff, got a ticket for 120. bought the US millworks by searching online. brought the picture of the mounted plate to my court date and they waived the 120 ticket lol.

THEN while in my brother in laws mb gts (which there is not way you can even mount a plate in the front NOR SHOULD YOU), I got pulled over and got a warning and was told by the officer that "your car is being flagged, if we see it again without a plate, you're getting a ticket"

they're anal in northern virginia.

PS MINE SHIPPED AS WELL. EXCITED!

As long as you don't mind the look, you're all set.

Does BMW have an OEM center mount license plate bracket for the M40i? My dealer didn't have anything for me today so right now the front plate is inside the car, he said something is pending but they don't have it yet. They only have one that fits the 30i (likely without M trim but who knows)

I live in a state where they are required and one can be pulled over. I need this resolved, and am pretty sure I should not have to pay for any kind of mount, BMW needs to provide one.

I much prefer center mount. the pics of this tow hook mount on one side looks terrible to me.

I was about to tell you that your dealer is on crack if they can't find bracket

that's what I thought. Maryland is pretty strict compared to many states re front plates. It's kind of a joke because there are many Pennsylvania cars on our roads, and they are rear only.

Zero sensor issues on the M40i. I do have sensor issues on my F32 435i, but I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me.

Good to know. I had to tweak the placement a couple times on previous cars to prevent erroneous sensor activation

No tweaking required at all on the M40i!

I like it. I think it helps it stand out from the crowd. Will try to order after I install the spacers.

My car hasn't been delivered yet, but I plan on getting the Sto N Sho quick release from Big Mike's Performance Parts. They don't have the part for the 2018 X3 yet, but they have worked with me in the past to R&D on my vehicles since I live really close.

Once my car is here, I will be going to them to have the Sto N Sho developed for my M40i. Probably will take 2-3 weeks from today to get it done. I'll post again when it's finished in case anyone else is interested.

You might be interested in the Sto N Sho mentioned in my previous post. Center mount, under the bumper, and it's a quick-release system. I've had them on three different vehicles and they work great.

that's a really neat alternative! still don't like that I would have to drill holes into the bumper...
