She will probably still be faster than most other cars...

MSport was actually available then, there was a few things I liked about the SAP better and went with that. Deep Sea Blue + Mojave interior. going to be hard to part with it. maybe not so much for a 2018 M40i.

One of the other local dealers should have an M40i - the same one I drove the 35i 6.5 years ago in the first place. I may go hunt one down and drive it. I'm not even sure I need to but i should.

Is Adaptive M suspension similar to what DHP was on the F25 (from what I read it lowers the suspension by .4 inch as well)?

In 2011, staggered 19" 309s on Continental CSC were available at launch with SAP only. It was the only way to get max summer performance tires and no decrease in top speed. There was no M-Sport available when the F25 was first released. In my location, SAP was also offered with a 18" non-staggered (RFTs) set-up with all-season tires only and decreased top speed limiter. Three months later the M-Sport trim was available that took on the SAP role in regards to increased speed limiter, staggered set-up, aero kit etc. 309s were still available in future trims but not as a staggered set-up. M-Sport used staggered 19" 369Ms that went square sometime before the LCI was released in 2015. SAP was discontinued in 2013.

IMO, Adaptive M Suspension is a must have...especially coming from DHP.

The 2011 X3 35i SAP was my first BMW and an awesome ride. Took a huge gamble and pre-ordered. Had the first F25 in my area. At the time, there was no other SAV that came close. Took the same gamble again with the X4 M40i as the starting point. The 2018 X3 M40i brings the same kind of excitement as the F25 SAP did in 2011.

The silver is really hard to beat as it is so forgiving. There is a reason that the vast majority of car tv commercials are of silver cars. just my 2c

The new bells and whistles on the 2018 X3 are nice but not compelling for me. I will consider the 2018 X3 M40i when the time comes, but plan to enjoy my 2016 X3 35i for a few more years.
Why do you even bother to try the 30i ?? The successor of your car is clearly the M40i.
