Garage Door Openers
I was trying to add a gate opener into one of the three slots to no avail. The owner's manual mentioned something stating I would need the manual for the gate opener if it did not work. Does anyone know what I should do or has anyone else encountered this issue? Thank you.

If it's like the coded garage door openers, you might need to know how to get the motor for the gate to enter "learn" mode or some equivalent. On my garage unit there's a button you need to press on the motor unit (vice remote) and then do the shenanigans in the car to get the two working. Dunno if that helps . . .

If it's a rolling code (probably is) you'll need to "learn" it, as mentioned above. Do the members a favor when you figure it out and post the instructions.

From my personal experience with 330i home link.
Make sure you original remote control has fresh battery - spend 45 min first day get her home (engine idle, remember in BMW you can't use home link if engine is off, same as horn) try to think my garage opener with my new car. Nissan and Acura take about 3 min - but BMW Only when I change battery, was able to think. And yes, rolling code - don't forget rolling code. I have to search E90Post for my original post. Good Luck!

Most residential security gates for multi-unit developments do not have rolling security codes.
The home link will generally work. You just have to follow the instructions TO THE LETTER. If it fails the first time, reset/clear the home link (push in the 2 outside buttons?) and start over. For some weird reason, I was only able to get my gate opener to work with the middle of the 3 buttons. |

For me, it all worked in the end. But I noticed two things: first, the position of the remote control in relation to the receiver makes all the difference. I could not program the rolling code the first time, because the car's receiver did not catch the remote's signal at all. I experimented with many distances (like the manual said) and I finally got it. Second, because mine was a rolling code, I also had to set my opener to the "learning mode" and within 30 seconds press the button I programmed three times. After that, it worked consistently.

The trick when programming BMW's Homelink with a remote is to hold the remote between the windshield and the rearview mirror, pointed toward the mirror. This will save you a lot of aggrivation, and works the first time.

Just wondered. Does it matter if I reverse in the garage but may not open the door until I am backing up and not facing the garage door with the "homelink"? I don't have to point my remote directly at the door so I assume I would not with this.

I believe the instructions for programming a "rolling code" garage door opener are in the manual. I remember using the manual to pair my car with the garage door. One person did have to be inside near the motor to press the "learn" button. If this does not help, I can try and check my manual for details and report back.

I got the homelink to work. I also have a key pad by the garage door outside and that is working. However the two remotes that came with the house do not work once I set up the other two device. Good enough, don't have the patience to get them ALL working. I do have the rolling code opener.

I have got garage door repair bellflower for work and installed the garage door opener with the key fob. Now i won't have to push the button for more , i can easily access it through remote.
