F25 Halogenm to Xenon

Hi guys,

Coming with some update regarding halogen to LCI Bi-xenon retrofit.

The new module came last week. I followed the instructions given by Shawn and injected the CAFD into it. Surprisingly everything worked on the first try...good.

Also after VO coding 522 into FRM the failure code "Hardware and software coding unplausibel" and "TMS LIN-Bus Failure" disapeared from INPA+ I'm able to measure voltage at the TMS FRM pins....so I know now that the new FRM is ok with XENON function (Sending picture of both old/new modules).

There is however other problem with TMS Modules (they are also new and not initialized). I cannot see them in ESYS and INPA is giving me two failures (left /right):

0x800FC3 Treiber-Modul Scheinwerfer (TMS) links: Kodierfehler oder timeout

Do you have some idea why I cannot see the modules in ESYS, or how can i solve the problem.....Could it be that the TMS modules have to be somehow initialized first?

Additional question: Can you see TMS module in ESYS as standalone module, or is it only submodul of FRM?

TMS Update

Hi,

Small update:

There is subsection TMS in FRM FDL code. I will try to disable TMS_ID (if such value exist over there) in order to see the modules in ESYS. I heard also about using RHEINGOLD to initialize or re-flash the new TMS modules from different VIN/ Transport mode.

In case, somebody have some experience with that, please let me know.

When coding the idrive for office on NBT you remove SL8Ax correct ? but once removed do you still code VO and if so what to? Surely if it's removed then there is nothing to code ?

Halogen to LCI ECE Bi/Xenon F25 X3

Hi all,

Proudly announce, my halogen to xenon retrofit succeeded.
(Front Headlights)

In case somebody will be interested more in detail on how to do it, let me know.

Shortly:

1) You need to buy original bmw headlights with xenon + TMS modules should be installed in the headlights.
2) You need to buy new FRM III Module even that the one you have in the car is also FRMIII (smart guys in bmw are saving money in case of factory halogen)
3) You need to do some wiring changes
4) VO Code 522 and write it in to the FRM Module (VO Coding with ESYS)
5) Connect the lights, you should be getting xenon + side marker (no Angel eyes)
6) In INPA you should be getting the failure code: TMS Module Coding Error or timeout...that means FRM sees the modules, but they are not initilaized.
In case you are getting LIN-Bus Failure, you should check your wiring again bcause the FRM cannot see the TMS Modules.
7) Run RHEINGOLD and perform service function.....software should direct you automaticaly and offer you the TMS Module initialization...after the initialization, you should be ok...with the front headlamps.....

For Shawn: Even after the TMS is initialized, it is not shown as ECU in ESYS..however there is FDL code fo TMS inside FRM ECU.

Still having some minor problems with brake lights and need to install LWR (auto headlight vertical regulation)...but this Im sure will be solved fast.

HU_NBT => INBAND_RINGING = aktiv, but it only works with some phones (e.g. iPhone and not Android).

Not sure if it's been answered here already, but is it possible to code the car to remember the last Sport/Comfort/ECO mode?

It was asked here: http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=740967

You can code to remember Eco Mode only, none of the others unfortunately.

I need help please....

I already have the cable and the software installed. It connects with the car. My problem is what to do (and how) then.

I am following the "Getting Started" pdf that came with the software BUT it was written for version 3.18.4 and the E-sys that I have is version 3.27.1 so most of the options are different... for instance, it tells me to "Select CADF and then select Read Coding Data" but in my version it looks different than the screenshot, and the option is not there...

IS there any kind of beginners guide for version 3.27.1? I am an IT guy and have done similar coding before, but it is my first time with BMW and E-Sys and I am lost...
