Dashcam install - constant 12V fuse

Hey guys,

I got myself a BlackVue DR650GW-2CH dashcam that I will be installing in my new M40i at the end of the month when it is delivered.

Can anyone confirm if the fuse panel setup for the X4 is as found here: http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showpo...16&postcount=2 (guessing the X3 and X4 share the same fuse setup?)

Also, I will be using a Multi Safer hard wire kit, and they recommend one wire on a constant 12V fuse (they suggest the Hazard lights) and another on an ACC fuse to enable "parking mode" recording. From the X3 diagram posted above, I wasn't able to find the hazard lights fuse. BMW is tricky because of the battery discharge prevention and apparently the only safe fuse for permanent constant 12V is the hazard light or straight to battery terminal. Does anyone have a clue?

I'm thinking I will post my install in a step-by-step picture guide if there is interest.

I used a fuse tap and plugged into #147 in the trunk.

Any particular reason why you went with the fuse panel in the trunk? I am assuming #147 is not used and constant 12V?

I couldn't get to the fuse behind the glove box so went to the the trunk. As for #147 I took my cue from another forum member (sorry don't recall the members name).

It either drives the iDrive or something similar so as soon as I start the car, the camera starts.
