Thule wingbars on X3
Anyone using Thule Wingbars on X3? My rear bar is significantly shorter than the front bar, overlapping with the leg only 2cm (as opposed to front bar which overlaps 5cm on each end). I am afraid that small overlap will lead to a break under stress.

Since Thule is Swedish, I feel compelled to try to answer......
I have BMW Original bars - made by Thule The overlap will give you limited extra strength. The distance between supports is the important factor. There is - under "normal" loads - very little flex in the bars. I would not be concerned. |

I still think that wrong bars are being recommended by Thule for X3 F25 - rear bar is much shorter for no reason at all. There is more strain on the rear bar due to shorter overlap. 959300 would be a better and stronger fit afaik.

Sorry, as an engineer, I have to disagree. I also just got an answer from Thule engineering team that they test the bars in the most stretched position where they are most vulnerable. Moreover, here's the proof that you can mount front "L" bar in the rear without any issues, providing a nicer and more stable fit.
