How to hinge your wipers?
Can someone please point me to a step by step instruction on how to get your wipers to hinge so that you can either wash your car or dry it or even replace the blades. I found an instruction and tried it and it didn't work so I think i'm just missing something extremely simple.
Thanks... |

It isn't obvious how to get the wipers into service position. The link to the thread below may help as it has been discussed before:

EIther i'm crazy or there is something different for the 2011 model. I'll try it again but next time i'm in for service, I'll just ask. |

You also have to make sure your door is closed. It took me 20mins to figure why it wasn't working until I finally closed my door then did the wiper up process

Ahhh!! There we go... I did the process stated above but my door was open because I kept getting in and out of the car since I thought I was doing something wrong. This may be the solution. Will try tonight! Thank you.

This is one of the process that bmw got wrong! It's pointless to have the door closed in order to have the wipers go up. So stupid of them to do this.
Just pointless! |

Ok let me clarify.....
When changing or cleaning the wipers. No need to close the door, do the process to bring the wipers up just to open the door and get right back out to clean or change wiper blades. Unnecessary process. |

Guys, I have an '11 and don't need to have the door closed. Sometimes it takes a cycle through the ignition modes to get them to go up. ie. Push the button three times, then lift the wiper stalk.
I'm reluctant to try and force the arms up myself... |
