Mingstar88,
I too had a no-start scenario last Thursday night. I drove home from work 15-20min. and turned the car off. Approximately 10min later I attempted to start my car and got a similar no-start condition you've described. There was a message on the display but I forgot to make note of the error. We took my wife's 9yr old Acura (because it always starts) that evening. When I returned home the BMW fired right up. Since I had attemtped to start the BMW several times earlier I figured I'd take it for a short drive to charge the battery. When I pulled away I noticed my check engine light was on... (it is hidden behind the steering wheel rim). Anyway, the next morning the car started fine and the check engine light was off. One thing that might be an issue during extreme cold is leaving the fuel tank low. My car had below 1/4 tank and I did fill it up when I went out to charge the battery.

In my area any auto parts store will read the codes for free, or the dealership could read the codes. Please post the fault codes. |

US customer service... unfortunately that doesn't happen north of the 48th parallel.
I believe the code is also stored in the key fob and can be retrieved by the service techs.

Looked at my history and they tested the power supply and they had to change the power distribution box. It is fixed since. (March 2013).
Had no problem since. |

Shop finally got a chance to deal with it today and told me the thermostat was broken and will be replaced on Monday. No idea if that will help the situation but here's hoping. |

Speaking of ex-warrany period, since you have an Indy, I assume you not going for the Extended Warranty. FYI, most GTA dealers were only offering $200 off. My dealer called me back and offered $400 off if I bought two. I should have countered, two for one sounds better. |

- Car dies in freezing cold parking lot.
- Delivered X3 to Dealership - Replaced Faulty Integrated Power Supply Module - then traced a drain to a faulty JBE - Replaced Junction Box Electronic Module...backordered from Germany. Two and half weeks later...I get my car back. |
