Any news on the X3 diesel for the states?
So, both the 7-series and X3 diesels were slated for the "first half of 2014," I think. Now that BMW's introduced the 7-series diesel, has anybody heard anything about the X3? I'm hoping it's a six cylinder, not a four.

MB and Audi are on board... BMW is a little late to the party.

Obviously from my location I'm not totally up to date with what's happening in North America, but wasn't there some grand official announcement from BMW USA 12 months or so ago that you guys were going to get the X3 30d (3.0l 6 cylinder single turbo diesel) about this time - ie early 2014?

There was a general timeline, which I referred to in my first post, but no specifics, hence the conjecture last year regarding what engine we would get in the 3 series. I'm guessing it will be unveiled with the LCI at the New York Auto show (I think) in April, with the specifics released a week or two beforehand.

If you watch the video - the guys also mentions the 18d and if I remember correctly the steering wheel was on the correct side. I think the 18d may be coming later, but I have a feeling you are more interested in the 35d, just like I am.
The video I am referring to is in here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=751036 Last edited by flavius; 02-06-2014 at 05:01 AM.. |

I'm pretty confident this will be the only X3 diesel we get. Even if we did get the six, it would have been more like the 30d in other markets, as we've seen in the 5 and 7 series and the X5. At least they're consistent, though, and we've now got a full range to choose from.
