X3 Full Correction Detail Log
Hey guys,
I post more on the 1er forums but now I have an X3 to detail I thought I would log it here. Recently, a married couple came to me saying they would like their 2 bimmers detailed to around 95% correction. They are their daily driver's and plan to keep them for many years so when I presented Opti-Coat to them they were all for it. The good news is that they will be taking a 3+ week 25th anniversary vacation in the Mediterranean. Which means I get to take my jolly good time with the cars while I am working my full time job as an engineer . I thought I would start with the X3 as it will be my most time consuming vehicle, not only because of its size but because the amount of defects found on it. Products used/using: Gilmour's Foammaster II Dawn APC Dodo Juice Basics of Bling Car Shampoo Meguiars Clay ONR diluted with water as clay lube 3M Painter's Tape I started yesterday with a thorough Dawn APC wash to remove and clean the entire surface of the paint. I then clayed the car. No pictures of the claying process but it definitely looks like it had been clayed sometime last year. The clay looked relatively good. Today after work I prepped the car and my gear for tomorrow's compounding. Taped up and ready to go:

I will post pictures sometime this weekend, but I really would like to say that I hate finishing down this paint. It has been an absolute nightmare, and there is still a lot of the car left to do.
