2005 X3 motor mounts sheared
So dropped my X3 off to a dealer to figure out what's wrong with it.
05 x3 w/137k mi. Just changed the brakes. But before I could change them, my 4x4 light would come on at acceleration, then beep and red Brake light and ABS light. Dealer says my left motor mount sheared and has caused issues with my drive shaft and transfer case. They say it all should be replaced. My wonder is that true? If the motor mount is replaced, will that align everything and stop the code popping up? Has anyone else had this experience? Any recommendations? |

Hmm.. You def have an issue, not sure if motor mount will cause Transfer case issues. X3 front diff is mounted to the oil pan, so any additional engine movement caused by bad motor mount shouldnt be adding stress on driveshaft and/or transfer case..
Insterested to hear the outcome... Did you try reading error codes using OBD reader?
