SURVEY: If you were NOT compromising X3 colors for Husband/Boyfriend
Many posts about purchasing decisions are about couples choosing together. If you are a gal and buying one without compromising/sharing color decisions with a guy, what exterior and interior colors would you get? Also, what trim would you get (SE, SAV, M-Sport)?

Sorry I posted on your other friend.
I (female) chose me own colours (no compromise): M Sport, Carbon Black, Black leather interior, aluminium exterior and interior trim, Alu roof rails, privacy glass. |

Might have considered hot pink if it had been available. Since it wasn't, I chose the bluewater metallic with oyster interior. I like the exterior body trim (no black plastic) of the M-Sport but didn't want the M logos and black roof rails. M-Sport cannot be ordered with bluewater metallic, so I chose Sport Activity package.

Bluewater Metallic is the X3 chick color. It's definitely the Pink of all the Blues. Put the kibosh on that color after my wife and daughter both liked it.
Deep Sea Blue is a good choice for us; makes the ladies and my son and I both happy. This is actually the vehicle my wife primarily drives. |

I am a guy but my wife and I have been looking at X3s lately. To me I really don't care about the color as it is her choice there. She currently has an E46 325 Touring in Silver Grey and an E46 M3 Conv in Silver Grey. Her words are she is tired of having a grey car. She wants something different but not a black color due to the heat we get in the south during the summer. So she wants either Alpine White or Titanium Silver.

Just ordered an X3 with my wife, I didn't mind any color combination as long as it was 'nice' -- I'm a photographer so I like colors, just not clashing colors :-)
Finally settled on Sparkling Bronze with Red Brown Nevada leather, haven't seen that combo before, but I think it will look rich and slightly autumnal; ie "barbour" grade. Can't wait to see it in ... 8+ weeks ! |

We did see a car with that paint at the dealership, and I tought it looked pretty subtle; there are hints of green/blue/purple it in, I think it's a pretty successful shade actually, not at all "chocolate" as it can appear on pictures. |

My grandfather picked that colour in the X5, we were quite disappointed as it doesn't look anything like on the brochure (they use it as the main colour to show the car) I'd of liked it to be more chocolate rather than not.
We're really not keen on it, however it's everyone to their own. I suspect that in the smaller body of the X3 it would look a lot better. It's a shame really cause it's really ruined the car. |

That colour does look good, it's totally different from the Sparking Bronze on the X5. It looks a lot darker, must be the car that makes it look different cause I thought all the x range had the same colours.

My husband spotted my X3 when it just arrived at the dealership. We were going to get a 2011 X3 CPO in VR with oyster leather for me and he had gone to give it the final once-over. When they showed him the Alpine white, Nevada Chestnut, M package, with the premium, cold weather, and technology packages, he knew it was exactly what I wanted. The instant I sat in the driver's seat, I loved it. My husband had already negotiated a very good deal on it and with the salesman's help surprised me with it. It was exactly what I would have ordered.

Bought what I wanted cuz it's my $$ and my vehicle. Husband drives 1994 Ford Ranger and that works great for hauling logs. But we are a practical duo, so for the x3, i was looking for something that works in Florida. It's hot, hot in Florida, so titanium silver with mojave--lightest interior that would not hold heat but would also not show dirt. Don't have to worry about snow, but the AWD does great in sand. Had to tow a boat and carry bikes. Fit 4 big people inside. X3 does it all, with the best ride ever. It makes that old boat look good!

To add a spin on demographics here...I'm a gay male and my partner of 20 years and our 7 year old daughter sat down to order the car. Choosing options was my choice since it's my daily and checked all boxes except HUD/Premium Sound. Exterior/Interior color is what we collectively decided on.
We have a '13 Msport in Carbon Black. We, initially chose black interior, but our daughter later said "we're quite a clean family and should get Oyster interior". We agreed and so we decided she takes after me and my great taste Everyone that sees our car and comments, men and women alike, love it!
